Kyle and Jon became an unstoppable team from the moment they crossed paths at Rip Curl, where they streamlined financial operations and drove measurable growth. Their no-nonsense approach carried into their time at Hurley, where they helped tighten margins, improve forecasting, and lead strategic initiatives that positioned the brand for scale.

After Hurley, they teamed up again at a high-end furniture and design company, where they completely transformed accounting operations — building smarter systems, cleaning up reporting, and giving leadership the clarity they needed to grow with confidence.

By 2025, it was clear: their combined experience and straight-shooting style could serve more than just one company at a time. They launched their own firm — Salt Margin — to support founder-led apparel and consumer brands during their most critical growth years.

After graduating from Brigham Young University, Kyle got his start in public accounting at PwC and has spent over 20 years in finance, leading teams at some of the most iconic apparel brands in the world — including Oakley, Volcom, Sony, Rip Curl, and Hurley, where he served as CFO. He’s helped creative companies scale smart, stay profitable, and make sense of their numbers without losing their soul.
Kyle founded Salt Margin to support founder-led apparel and consumer brands that want financial clarity without all the corporate fluff. He brings sharp and straightforward strategy to every engagement — and as a dad to four daughters, even the messiest accounting situation feels like a walk in the park.

With deep experience in planning, operations, and finance at companies like Rip Curl and Hurley, Jon knows how to build systems that scale — without drowning founders in spreadsheets or meetings.
